Drilling Holes In Preparation For Cutting The Marble |

After establishing what the size of the block of marble
is to be, holes are drilled into the marble. Where the holes are drilled
will determine the actual size of the marble block to be cut. A pneumatic
drill or hydraulic drilling machine will be used to drill the holes.
A steady stream of water will be us as a lubricant for the drilling process.
Three holes will be drilled, with all three holes intersecting in one
spot. Blue arrows indicate where the holes will be drilled and green
arrow indicates where the hole will intersect. |
