| The marble quarry's of Thassos, are open quarry's. The marble is not mined from tunnels. To look at the quarry's, they resemble a stairway climbing the mountain. Thassos has several marble quarry's on the island. Of course, as stated before, Thassos has a type of marble that is to be found no where else in the world. The Thassos White marble is to date, the whitest marble that has ever been discovered anywhere in the world. If any whiter marble exists, it has yet to be discovered. | |
